Home Learning Hints

Home learning can be challenging for students of all ages. However, taking time to support your child with their tasks can also provide a valuable opportunity for you to connect with them and to enhance their learning.  Arrange an area that is just for home learning. This should be a well-lit area that is away from distractions and has all necessary supplies (paper, pencils, etc.). Having a designated area will signal to your child that this is the place to do work and will help them focus.  Schedule a time that is dedicated for home tasks. Similar to having a designated space, having a set time to do home learning will help structure your child's day. Following an afternoon snack and quick break is often a good time for scheduled home learning time. Set goals with your child . Maybe your child wants to read more challenging books. Maybe they want to improve their multiplication skills. Setting goals with your child can help them self-assess, plan for the future, and reflect...
