The Great Outdoors

Does it ever feel like walking outside is a breath of fresh air...literally? After being inside a classroom for most of the day, taking a few minutes or even hours to spend time outside can greatly help students. Spending time outside can:

  • increase happiness
  • increase concentration
  • improves sleep
  • give you a nice boost of Vitamin D (which is important for developing strong bones and having a strong immune system)
Here at SISD, we try to use our amazing outdoor learning environments as much as possible. We have multiple outdoor areas where students can deepen their learning connections and get a chance for a movement break.

So whether it's just a cup of tea in the garden or a day-long hike in RAK, the great outdoors is a wonderful resource for students and parents alike!
